Chinghiz Aitmatov and folklore

Abstract

The article considers the function of folklore motives in Chinghiz Aitmatov’s works. His works «The white steamship», «Spotted Dog Running on Seashore», «The snowstorm substation» are generated by fairy tales, their images are derived from myths, and, inheriting spiritual traditions differ in their philosophical quality. For judgment of the most difficult problems generated by time, investigating art means and methods, the authors of the article dwell on the creative experience of the writer. Among these techniques and methods are the laws of the creative development of folk heritage by written literature. The authors of article pay attention to fact that the image of Raymaly zhyrau with his late love, put in the outline of the novel by Ch. Aitmatov, has deep bases connected with life and events of the famous poet, composer and widely popular singer Birzhan-sal, and this function of disclosure of the bitter truth of reality, a secret of soul of the hero is revealed by the central hero Edige.
