The article deals with the questions of teaching adequate translation of educational texts to Kazakh students at technical universities majoring in the specialty «Automation and Control». Translation skills are associated with both linguistic and specialty knowledge. The latter involves the deep knowledge of special terms as well as consideration of structural-semantic peculiarities of a translated text. The variants of translations often existing in the language do not meet the basic requirements submitted to the term. This is manifested in terms polysemy and synonymy. Translators are forced to choose either using one of the available term translations or offering their own version. The role of context is great in such cases. It is known that there is no translation in its pure form; however, one can understand what type of translation predominates by frequency of use of different translation types. In this connection, teaching adequate translation should be founded on the knowledge bases of the translation theory, because it is a complex, organized and controlled process.Downloads
