Abstract

This research is devoted to humorous motifs in the early works of Mikhail Zoschenko. To achieve this goal, we analyze two short-stories of the writer – «Aristocrat» and «Glass» to trace the reflection of characteristic humorous and funny motifs of the writer, based on critical-literary and analytical – descriptive methods that correspond to the objectives and tasks of research. Summing up the results, we observe that stories of Zoschenko are extremely ridiculous. In them, he puts the characters in unusual exceptional circumstances to which they can not adapt, so they look ridiculous, absurd, pathetic. Dialogues and language in the writer’s stories are remarkable. They play a significant role in provoking laughter.
