Education in Azerbaijan: a new stage of literary and social thought

Abstract

In the XIX century all Caucasus Azerbaijanis most densely lived in the Western Azerbaijan. The originality was inherent in material and moral wealth, folk literature, art of ashugs, mass school network, works of art, architecture. At the same time, the Azerbaijanis living in West Azerbaijan were an example of preservation and enrichment of literature, religion, customs and traditions, reluctance of marriages with representatives of other nationalities. In the nineteenth century in Azerbaijan, in its western part, schooling and education developed. With opening of schools for educating people in a number of settlements in the country, along with the national language learning Russian did not unaddressed also.

The article investigates the educational activity of such Azerbaijani intellectuals as Jalil Mamedkulizade, Firudin bey Kocharli and others.
