Verbal repetitions in the odes of G.R. Derzhavin

Abstract

This article presents the methods of verbal repetition in the ode «Felitsa»; verbal repetitions are regarded as a device of compositional organization of the text. It determines the distinctive features of Derzhavin odes, stable interrelations and links arising between stanzas. These links between stanzas are often presented explicitly by means of a variety of compositional techniques and they are expressed on the verbal, syntactic and rhythmic levels of the text. It explains into what types verbal repetitions are divided. It gives the definition of precise verbal repetitions, repetitions with the change of the form of the word, anaphoric repetition, composite joints and composite epiphora. This article is of interest to philologists.
