Abstract

The concept of the world image is comprehensively examined in this article, with particular emphasis placed on its cognitive, social, and poetic dimensions. The theoretical and methodological foundation of the study is based on the scholarly works of E. Husserl, A. Bely, K. Jaspers, M. Heidegger, M. Bakhtin, B. Meilakh, G. Gachev, B. Nurdauletova, and other prominent researchers. To date, numerous Kazakhstani and international scholars have explored the concept of the world image from various interdisciplinary perspectives. Drawing upon the hypotheses and theoretical approaches proposed in these studies, the world image may be understood as a complex and multidimensional phenomenon that encompasses both human existence and the universe as an integral whole, characterized by profound semantic and philosophical depth. Poetic cognition is defined as a specific mode of perceiving and interpreting the world, human existence, emotions, and surrounding phenomena through poetry, artistic imagery, and symbolic representation. Humanity’s enduring aspiration to comprehend reality gives rise to diverse mental constructs within the inner spiritual realm. These imaginative representations, accumulated in the layers of consciousness, are closely interconnected with personal experience, historical memory, and cultural codes. The study establishes that the concept of the world image functions as a widely employed scientific category across numerous disciplines. It is actively utilized in cultural studies, biology, sociology, psychology, philology, visual arts, ontology, and linguistics. In linguistics, particular attention is devoted to the representation of national worldview through language, whereas in literary studies, the world image is regarded as one of the principal components shaping the semantic, philosophical, and ideological structure of a literary text.

Keywords: world image, poetic cognition, literary text, national worldview, cultural code, poetics, cognition.
