Precedent term and precedent name

Abstract

The article examines the concepts «precedent text», «precedent phenomenon», «precedent name» in general linguistics and their research in scientific works. It investigates the motivation of introduction of the concept «precedent», defines the term, and justifies the use of the term in scientific usage. In Russian linguistics the notion of precedent has been comprehensively studied, precedent names have been studied in their connotative or intensional use. In the Kazakh linguistics this problem has been comprehensively studied only in some works. Each period has its own cultural code, language units as symbols of a particular phenomenon. Due to changes of values the precedent, which is a symbol, also changes. In the course of studying cultural symbols of different periods you can discover the meaning of the precedent. For example, depending on the changes and replenishment of cultural stereotypes in the present, the names Kiz Zhibek and Tolegen, Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Sulu are a symbol of pure love, that is, in the modern Kazakh language these precedent names are often used as a symbol of pure love. In historical monuments, which we take as the object of study, other names were a symbol of pure love and beauty.
