Abstract

This article discusses the ethno-cultural features of unrelated and typologically different Kazakh and Korean languages. Based on the early research results, scientific conclusions are made. On the basis of the ontological issues the role of language as «a cultural unit» and comprehensive knowledge of the nature of these languages is discussed. The paper considers proverbs, idioms in the Kazakh and Korean languages at the level of the «concept». They are called cultural concepts. Besides, it provides examples of beliefs characteristic of the two peoples. This means that the history of ethnic and cultural units of people begins with the ancient times.
