The subject «Oriental dance» has become widespread and entered into the educational programs of higher and secondary educational institutions of art and culture. In connection with the emergence of the problem of professional training – teachers, directors, choreographers, heads of the ensembles of the Eastern peoples’ dances, there was a need to develop training programs for the study of the theory and methods of teaching oriental dance. Thus, there arose the discipline «Theory and Techniques of Teaching Oriental Dance» which was first developed and introduced by the faculty of «Choreography» of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov. This article provides a summary of the dance culture of the peoples of East Asia, which is represented by such countries as China, Korea and Japan and studied by the discipline «Theory and Techniques of Teaching Oriental Dance». Currently, the indigenous people of these countries possess the most valuable dancing heritage, rich choreographic traditions, which largely determine the development of the modern scenic stage of oriental dance.Downloads
