Abstract

The article discusses the similarities and differences between the complex syntactic unity (super-phrasal unity) and paragraph. Despite the fact that the boundaries of CSU and paragraph are often the same, but their identification in stylistics is considered incorrect. While the paragraph is graphic and visible division of the text, clarifying its composition, the CSU division is semantic. The discrepancy between the boundaries of CSU and paragraph means that the author put a certain sense in it, which is necessary to understand and analyze. This purpose is served by the theoretical material and assignments placed in the educational-methodical complex on the Russian language [1-4], created in accordance with the curriculum for the experimental 11th grade for transition to 12-year education of secondary schools with Russian language of instruction [5 ].
