Abstract

In text linguistics, the concepts of connectivity and integrity are recognized as key categories of the text as a product of discursive activity. These categories were analyzed in the article by using the conceptual and scientific framework of cognitive discursive knowledge paradigms. Thus connectivity and integrity are investigated at the level of the semantic organization of the text. Semantic and notional functions of these categories make the text ontology, these categories form the semantic and language unity in which the text differs from the not-text or the rudimentary text. The article substantiates that the semantic organization of the text is defined not so much by lexical and syntactic means, but by semantic unities. Spatial (topological), temporal and event (propositional) unities of text formations refer to them. The spatial unity is formed by the principle of filling the emptiness. The temporal unity is represented in the theme and rheme community of the content. The event unity is based on the propositional structure of the text. Thus, the special role in the semantic organization of text formations is played by zero-proposition, which fully relies on cognitive abilities of native speakers. Works of Russian classical literature and newspaper publications served as the material for the analysis of the semantic organization of the text.
