The poesy genre of Ashug Shamshir’s who was one of the famous ashugs of the XX century in Azerbaijan is very rich. Many valuable works in different forms of the different genres were created by him, such as goshma (versifications), mukhammas (poetical commentaries) and soor. All these are given in the examples and discussed in this article.
