Abstract

The article deals with the educational material about the description as a functional­ semantic type of speech which is proposed in the textbook of the Russian language for the experimental 11­th grade of the 12­year
education model [1]. It analyzes the characteristics of the composition and methods for the expression of two types of text­description – factual and creative, defined in accordance with the purpose and content of speech. Particular attention is paid to the grammatical means used in the descrip­tion­ texts; it justifies the link of description­texts types with different func­tional styles.
