Аннотация

Kazakhstani language learners with their English as a foreign language might develop into one of many varieties of world Englishes, which is the main topic of this work searching for an English model for a Kazakhstani English learner. Background information about English learning in Kazakhstan and a review of some world linguistic literature on the English pronunciation models which might suit Kazakhstani learners’ choice as well as influence of economic and socio-cultural changes of late 20th century to the English learning process in the society are considered. Influences on English pronunciation by various world transnational companies in Kazakhstan are mentioned. Activities by non-governmental international organizations and government bodies involved in English pronunciation establishment are discussed. The authors suggest some teaching implications.
