The article is devoted to the study of the language repertoire of Kazakhstani youth. The purpose of the study is to study the language repertoire of young people born and educated in a multilingual country. The language repertoire of young people is full of specific features compared to the language resources of other social groups. Linguistic realities of the state level play an important role in the formation and development of their language repertoire. In this regard, the work provides a brief overview of the language policy and the language situation in Kazakhstan. In the course of the study, using the observation method, a hypothesis was put forward that the diversity of languages in the linguistic repertoire of young people leads to frequent mixing of languages in speech. Data on the level of youth proficiency in their native language and foreign languages were collected using a survey. The attitude of young people to the mixing of languages, the use of borrowed words and slang was analyzed. The research materials allow us to draw conclusions about the linguistic phenomena that arise when Kazakhstani youth speak three or more languages and use these languages competitively. The results of the study are useful in studying the theory of language contacts, problems of bilingualism, multilingualism, as well as the relationship between foreign language education and the language repertoire of students. The article describes the phenomena of creolization, code-switching, and hybrid word usage in youth language with concrete examples. Through this, the study aims to reveal the complex linguistic interaction between youth language and society.
