Abstract

The article discusses the speech functions of adjectives in natural –scientific and technical texts. The first function is connected with ordinary speech patterns. The second one is linked to terminological speech constructions. In the second case there is one semantic link between terms and adjectives. In these contexts adjectives are word characteristics relating to terms. They can’t be removed from the text. The difference between ordinary speech and terminological word combinations and their stylistic properties were shown.
