Analysis of political discourse: the connection between science and techniques of teaching

Abstract

The article addresses the issue of implementation of scientific knowledge and research results in the practice of teaching elective courses for undergraduates specialty "6M021000-Foreign philology." The author proposes to use in the planning of a new elective course "Contemporary Media Technologies" information obtained in the course of research in writing her doctoral thesis, and data received from an internship in the University of Arizona. This course will focus on the development of undergraduates’ skills of philological research, their ability to freely navigate the new media technologies with the possibility of employment as well as education and the formation of the modern citizen of Kazakhstan in the field of media, that is turning them into creative and critical thinking members of the media.
