Abstract

This paper is devoted to the challenges of «Intercultural Communication in External Legal Affairs» teaching in Kazakh Humanities and Law University. The authors draw attension to the necessity of teaching the discipline in higher institutions through the analysis of the experience gained in KazHLU where students are taught in English, and it includes the transfer of communicative, interactive and perceptual skills necessary to communicate with representatives of other cultures. The main task of teaching intercultural communication in English in the Kazakh Humanitarian and Law University is to assist students in the formation of the competence and intercultural skills. In this article attention is paid to three aspects: the need for intercultural communication; problems and prospects; practical short-term solutions.
