In the article, it is said that the meaning of the word is specified in the discourse and is defined in part of speech and it acquires a special context color in accordance with the main semantic characteristics. The word in the speech structure expresses the main property, filled with power and according to its nature obtains social significance. In speech the Word gains semantic development, deepens the meaning and gives names to new concepts, thus the language develops. The article analyzes the content of the poetic heritage of Abai and reveals the meaning of used words. It is revealed that in accordance with the agglutinative nature of Turkish language the roots of the words rarely change, and in comparison with other languages, formal and substantive structure is preserved also the scientific etymology of some words is revealed. The semantic connection of the verses of Abai is analyzed, in which words and phrases convey the history of the word by their meanings, the identity of the poet, his inner world and his feelings are cognized through the word. It is shown that the poet’s words allow us to comprehend the worldview of the people, the nation.
