On the text-orientated approach in Russian language teaching

The article is devoted to the efficient use of text as the main didactic units in the Russian language classroom. Knowledge about the structure of the text, its levels and types are important for its analysis and interpretation, but they most importantly contribute to generating one’s own texts.The article notes that the development of language skills not only contributes to the development of linguistic and communicative competence, but also helps to solve the problems of socio-cultural adaptation of the person, to develop students’ ability to analyze what they read, arguments to express their position.
The systematic work with the text involves the use of different forms: comparative analysis of texts, proverbs and aphorisms, creative use of exercises such as «restore the text» interactive methods (group work), review of problematic issues.
