Abstract

This article cjnsiders the American children's literature, as well as stages of development . The author explores the creativity of children's poet , absurdist - syurralist Theodor Seuss Geisel , the beloved author of several generations of Americans, considering its role in the development of American children's literature. Theodore Geiser published his works under the pseudonym Dr. Seuss . His works, written in plain language , intended not only to improve skills in reading , speaking, enhance imagination, but also there is aim to develop readerships’ outlook and thinking abilities. Seuss drew attention to global issues such as nuclear weapons, violence. And his readers are active fighters against evil, tyranny, war . In his works, he believes that his readers are the future of their country. Thus, Theodor Seuss joined the realities of this life with irrational fantasy.
