Abstract

The article deals with the problem of discourse, the concept of political discourse is defined, the concept of interpretation of political discourse and its language features is covered. The political discourse is considered from the point of view of philology, social and psycho-linguistics and individual hermeneutics. The role of policy in life of society is defined and considered as one of basic elements of functioning of society, aimed at providing political stability and regulating the relation of people in society. The political discourse is characterized by manipulative feature for the purpose of conducting propaganda and ideological conflict. In the sociological explanatory dictionary manipulation is defined as ideological, social and psychological influencing system, which can change the point of view of the person and manage action. Types of manipulations such as referential, argumentative, factual and focal are considered in detail and examples of manipulations are given. We think that mass media has a huge impact on the formation of public opinion, therefore the independent press is the main requirement of democracy.
