Abstract

The acquisition of foreign language vocabulary in speech is one of the main objectives of foreign language teaching at high educational institutions, since the degree of lexical correctness in foreign language speech is one of the main indicators of the level of proficiency in language. However, the practice of English language teaching, as well as methodological research suggests that the acquisition of vocabulary is complicated by interfering influence of the native language. Thus, the problem of overcoming lexical interference in a foreign language is determined by its lack of practical methods of training in proper usage, especially at the initial stage of learning, which formed the basis fluency of foreign language speech. The interfering influence of the native language can be greatly weakened, if measures are taken to prevent and overcome the interference.
