Abstract

This article describes non-verbal means of communication in modern English and the group of verbs that indicate the parts of body with which the contact is made. Nonverbal communication can complement and enhance verbal communication. It is important for students studying a foreign language who have to communicate with the representatives of other cultures. It is important not only to translate foreign speech, but also be able to understand the feelings and emotions of the people properly and fully to work them out in communication.
