Abstract

This article examines comparative studies of English and Kazakh fairy tales. The relevance of the research topic is due to the fact that the problems of the relationship between language and culture, as well as folklore as a component of culture has been always prioritized in linguistic science. This is due to the fact that the ancient ideas about the world, reflected in the traditional national picture of the world, recorded and reflected precisely by the works of oral folk art. And folklore works are not only stored and transferred ancient representations about the world, the national picture of the world, they also influence on the formation and reflection of the national mentality.
The relevance of the chosen topic is also determined by the understanding of the fairy tale as a special kind of folklore genre realized with the help of a set of specific linguistic means not sufficiently studied in the framework of linguoculturology, as well as the special role of the fairy tale as a text and the incomplete study of the linguistic aspects of the fairy tale in a comparative plan; The necessity of studying the linguistic and cultural and ethno-cultural parameters of a fairy tale as a text, since this concept has been traditionally studied and analyzed, mainly in the framework of literary criticism.
In this work fairy-tale texts of two different-system languages are analyzed in comparative aspect. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the ethno-cultural component and the identification of ethnically unique and universal in fairy-tale motifs and fairy-tale language.
