Abstract

The paper identifies A. Baitursynov’s author’s style and methods of argumentation. A. Baitursynov’s
journalistic articles had made big impact on consciousness of the Kazakh people and on formation of
national views. The main feature of his publicist works is his ability to convince the reader and prove his
point. A. Baitursynov was able to find the right words and convey them directly to the reader. This was
possible only due to his thorough knowledge of argumentation techniques and their appropriate use.
The publicist was able to apply the entire arsenal of logical methods. These are, first of all, methods of
inductive inference, as well as – methods of deductive inference based on the truth of generally valid
knowledge for a particular range of phenomena. The central idea of this work is to analyze the methods
of argumentation inherent in the journalistic works of A. Baitursynov. The results of the analysis show
that A. Baitursynov had a deep knowledge of laws of the logic, such as assimilation, justification, sufficiency of logic in the argumentation of his ideas, as well as methods of deduction and induction. In
addition, A. Baitursynov skillfully used popular methods of national oratory (assessment, comparison,
approval, recognition, repetition of the world as a whole).
