Abstract

The article compares phraseological units of two languages which are different from each other, languages with different structures, phraseological units which are able to show clearly the past centuries and true present attitudes of each nation to the world and reality at the moment. Phraseological units transmit clear information about the life of ethnos, individual way of thinking, life wisdom, experience and special national mentality to the young generation. With the help of idioms, the culture of the certain nation is perceived from different sides.

The phraseological units of speech behaviour from dictionaries were selected for the investigation. In the research among the phraseological units reflecting speech behaviour, phraseological units expressing garrulity on the basis of phraseological units describing the way of conversation and the content of the conversation were collected.

The article examines the meaning of phraseological units of garrulity in Kazakh and English languages. The article is the first attempt to describe the national peculiarities of Kazakh and English phraseological units reflecting garrulity. Attention to the differential, lexical original features of phraseological expressions is the main aim of this paper.

Which parts of speech within phraseological units are used and associated are determined in this study. A comparative and contrastive study of phraseological units requires a complex approach. In the course of the present research, a continuous sampling method and quantitative-statistical type of method were used. As a result of the study, specific features of phraseological units in two languages are revealed: verbs, adjectives, frequently occurring within the phraseological units expressing the garrulity.
