The reasons for pragmatic errors in the use of appeals (based on the material of the Chinese and Kazakh languages: to the formulation of the problem)
Abstract
Addresses are verbal expressions that people use to address themselves and others in the process of communication, and can reflect the different relationships people have with each other in their daily interactions, such expressions carry the social evaluation and attitudes that people from all social classes have about themselves and each other. With the acceleration of globalisation and increased exchange between different countries and nationalities, intercultural communication is gradually gaining in importance and value. However, due to the differences in cultural backgrounds, ways of thinking and social institutions of different countries, we often make various linguistic mistakes during intercultural communication, and linguistic mistakes directly affect normal communication ((phatic communication, friendly, related, business, etc.). Of course, in order to obtain the necessary result, attention should be paid to all the verbal components that make up the speech act, including appeals.This paper uses language adaptation theory as the basis to analyse the causes of pragmatic addressing errors in Chinese-Kazakh intercultural communication and suggests that it is necessary to adjust the targeted addressing according to different communication objects, social environment and socio-cultural contexts to achieve successful intercultural communication.
