The poetics of the absurd and the forms of expression of the author's position in N. Verevochkin's story «Gogol's skull»
Abstract
In this study, in the light of psychoanalytic concepts, the forms of expression of the author's position and the absurdist techniques that express it are considered, the idea of the inseparability of the author from the artistic whole is actualized. An attempt is made to describe such forms of expression of the author's position as the title and intertextual inclusions from the point of view of Freudian teachings about two key human energies — Eros and Thanatos. The functionality of the poetics of the absurd is considered as an expression of the concept of nonsense and absurdity, which allows a more in-depth examination of the form of the psychological state of the hero of the work. Relying on the works of Kazakhstani and foreign literary critics, it is proved that the expression of the author's position and characterization of the character series correlates with the manifestation of the author's unconscious, psychological trauma and defense mechanisms. The theoretical significance of the study is justified by a comprehensive approach to the consideration of the forms of expression of the author's position: in the light of the theories of traditional literary studies and psychoanalytic approaches. The novelty of the research is determined by the fact that for the first time in N. Verevochkin’s story «Gogol's Skull» the poetics of the absurd and the forms of expression of the author's position in the psychoanalytic aspect were considered. The practical significance of the work is expressed in the possibility of using the results of the article in the study of the forms of expression of the author's position, the theoretical concepts of «author» and «hero» in modern Russian-language prose of Kazakhstan.
