Abstract

The studies conducted by academician Rabiga Syzdyk emphasized the importance of examining the language of Kazakh fiction within the framework of national linguistic norms, thereby opening avenues for comprehensive exploration of the pragmatic, cognitive, and social dimensions of stylistics. Her scholarly works elevated the stylistics of literary texts to a new level, providing deeper insights into the stylistic layers of the literary language. Syzdyk's theoretical contributions play a significant role in identifying the aesthetic function of linguistic units and distinguishing between the language of fiction and various functional styles.

Currently, there arises a critical need for an in-depth stylistic analysis of prose within Kazakh literature, particularly in the genre of short stories. Short stories are regarded as an essential literary form reflecting the linguistic practices characteristic of certain historical periods. In this context, analyzing stylistic peculiarities, linguistic usage, and narrative techniques in prose based on R. Syzdyk's scientific approaches represents one of the pressing research issues.

The primary goal of this research is to analyze the linguistic and stylistic features of contemporary Kazakh short stories, exploring their continuity with traditional verbal art, and to define the figurative and stylistic potential of the literary language. Particular emphasis is placed on clarifying the functional roles of metaphors, repetitions, and figurative expressions to demonstrate their aesthetic and pragmatic capabilities.

The article examines stylistic potentials of the literary language through examples drawn from contemporary Kazakh prose, analyzing the stylistic functions of linguistic units and their role as text-forming factors within literary works. This study contributes to a better understanding of the developmental patterns of prose language and promotes enhancement of both theoretical and practical foundations of stylistics.
