Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the nature of mytho-folkloric images and motifs, as well as the processes of their transformation within the genre of the literary fairy tale. The object of the study is the genre-poetic structure of the folkloric fairy tale, with a focus on its representation and influence in contemporary fairy-tale texts. In particular, the analysis addresses such features characteristic of the folkloric tradition as the fantastic dimension, the phenomenon of supernatural helpers, the system of stable motifs, the functional specificity of images, causal conditionality, and the distinctive chronotopic model. These elements are incorporated into the genre of the literary fairy tale and synthesized with authorial narrative strategies. This process activates the structures of collective consciousness, which are manifested both in archetypal images and motifs and in the recipient’s perception. Furthermore, the article examines the issue of classifying fairy tales according to age-based focus groups, as well as their pragmatic features aimed at both child and adult audiences. The research material includes D. Akhmetuly’s works Sayı̄n khan, Khan uldary (The Khan’s sons), Tekte ury (The Noble Thief), Mūrāger (The Heir), and Äkeden qalğan mura (The Father’s bequest). The research methodology is grounded in the continuity of scholarly tradition and encompasses both traditional and innovative approaches to literary analysis, such as content analysis, comparative-typological method, mythopoetic analysis, and psychoanalytic interpretation.
